WorkOne to Host Regional Job Fair on April 19


WorkOne Southern Indiana will host a Regional Job Fair on Tuesday, April 19, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the WorkOne Center located at 2125 State Street, Ste. #16, New Albany.

Over sixty regional companies, recruiting for in excess of a two thousand great positions, will participate in the event. A variety of employment sectors will be represented, including manufacturing, logistics, transportation, healthcare, marketing and hospitality, to name a few. Positions and wages range from entry-level to professional levels.

Job seekers attending the hiring event are encouraged to bring several resumes, dress professionally, and be prepared to discuss employment opportunities with employers.

Evening Welding Class Available this Spring in Scottsburg

WorkOne and Ivy Tech have announced an evening welding class at the Mid-America Science Park in Scottsburg this spring.

WorkOne Welding Flyer Feb 2016WorkINdiana allows you to earn an Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma and American Welding Society (AWS) certification at the same time to give you the boost you need to become an Entry Welder. Clients who have a high school diploma may also be eligible for training.

WHY: An Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma alone may not be enough for your career. Employers are looking to hire people with experience AND training. You could earn up to $36,860 per year working as an Entry Welder!

Get Inspired to Finish Your Degree at the College Comebacker Fair

The following is a press release from the Scott County Community Foundation:

Life happens. Sometimes obstacles prevent us or people we know from finishing our educational goals. If you or someone you know has started college but had to hit the pause button, you are invited to a College Comebacker Fair at the Mid-America Science Park. The event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Mid-America Science Park, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

The College Comebacker Fair will take place in Scottsburg on Feb. 23.

Representatives will be on hand from Ivy Tech Community CollegeIndiana University SoutheastScott County Community FoundationScott County Partnership and WorkOne to share resources on how you can get back on track to finish your degree or certification. Meet with other adults and be inspired to go back to school. Refreshments will be served.

The College Comebacker Fair is a result of the Education Matters Southern Indiana initiative. Through this collaboration, the Scott County Community Foundation has partnered with the community foundations in Clark, Floyd, Harrison and Washington counties to increase the number of adults who have a degree or certification.

Another College Comebacker Fair will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 from 4-7 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College’s Ogle Hall, Horseshoe Community Room, in Sellersburg, for those who cannot attend the Scott County fair.
